These calculations assume continuous processing, not a normal calendar workday. They are scenarios, not observed employee performance.

Use a consistent continuous clock.
Include necessary checking and recording.
Standard deviation divided by mean.
Exclude externally waiting work unless part of the modeled stage.

Calculation

Wq=[rho/(1−rho)]×[(1+CV²)/2]×s. Clearance=B/(capacity−arrivals).

M/G/1 assumes Poisson arrivals, independent iid service, finite second moment, one continuous FCFS processor, rho<1. Clearance is a separate constant-rate fluid model.
